SECOND EDITION OF THE FERAL FOLK FESTIVAL – August 30, 2025 at the Freilichtbühne Weißensee Open-Air Stage in Berlin
Following the great success of last year’s inaugural Feral Folk Festival, the event returns for a second edition on August 30, 2025, at Weißensee’s Freilichtbühne.
A total of nine international singer-songwriters from Berlin’s folk and alternative scene will once again create the unique charm of this small but truly outstanding festival.
In collaboration with the Weißensee-based music studio ’The Famous Gold Watch’, a carefully curated lineup of bands and Artists will take the stage, including: James Michael Rodgers. Kiki Annette, Daisy Blind Man, Elsdeer, Rufus Coates & Jess Smith, Roxy Rawson, Kilkelly, Robert John Hope, and Marla Moya.
This “…promising new discovery on the Berlin festival calendar” (schubladenfrei.com) is organized by British musicians Roxy Rawson and Cameron Laing. The festival aims to be a platform that amplifies the voices of outstanding folk and folk-adjacent Artists with an emphasis on FLINTA performers based in Berlin, showcasing their music to a wider audience. Both visitors and the media were thrilled by the festival’s debut, which was praised for “…showcasing the best of folk, folk-noir, indie, and independent music in Berlin.” (indie.berlin)
The renowned ‘Famous Gold Watch Studio’ is passionately committed to supporting and professionally developing underground Artists in Berlin, especially women and gender-diverse musicians.
The studio continues to back the festival, which originally emerged as part of the “Pop im Kiez” funded by Music Board Berlin.
On August 30, 2025, Freillichtebühne will once again host this celebration of Berlin’s underground music scene, but this time in the grand outdoor auditorium of its main stage with nine exceptional and inspiring acts delivering a programme rich in musical depth, emotional authenticity, and artistic diversity.
This follow-up edition marks an important step toward establishing a lasting, annual cultural event that supports Berlin’s alternative and folk scenes — off the mainstream radar, with a focus on artistic integrity and social relevance.
