Which makes Music, Fashion, Film such an interesting proposition. The track arrives wrapped in the kind of cool, self-aware iconography that has always been Charli's calling card. The title alone reads like a mood board — a triptych of the cultural pillars she has long orbited and influenced. And the song largely delivers on that promise.
Sonically, Music, Fashion, Film sits in familiar Charli territory — sleek, hyper-produced synthetic pop with an undercurrent of genuine emotional weight. There is a sheen to the production that recalls the maximalist gloss of Crash while retaining the weirder, more textured instincts she honed through her PC Music collaborations. The verses move with a breezy, almost detached confidence before the chorus opens up into something more expansive and anthemic. It is the kind of pop song that feels effortless precisely because an enormous amount of effort has gone into making it feel that way.
Style as substance
Lyrically, the track leans into the mythology Charli has been building around herself — the idea of a life lived entirely inside the feedback loop of culture itself. References to image, identity, and the blurring of art and celebrity feel pointed rather than shallow. This is not mere name-dropping; it is Charli examining the ecosystem she both feeds and is fed by. It is not her most experimental work, and listeners arriving fresh off the disorientating brilliance of BRAT may find it a more straightforward listen than expected. But accessibility has never been a dirty word, and Charli wears it well here.

It is sharp, confident, and undeniably her. Whether it marks the beginning of a new chapter or a stylish interlude between bigger statements remains to be seen, but right now, it sounds very much like the future.
