We Love Cinema!

From the 6th to 8th February, the 14th edition of the Berlin Short Film Festival will take place at the Babylon Berlin Cinema.
Opened in 1929 opposite the Volksbühne theater, Babylon is Berlin’s only municipal cinema and one of the oldest movie theaters still in operation in the capital. Its historic setting in the heart of the city provides the perfect backdrop for a celebration of short-form cinema.

This year’s festival brings together 26 short films over two days, showcasing a wide spectrum of genres, styles, and voices from filmmakers around the world. The festival supports female directors and diverse story telling. The award-winning films are eligible for listing in the prestigious Internet Movie Database (IMDB).

All films will be screened in English or with English subtitles.

Themes of friendship, summer days, joy, freedom and the desire to live come together in the beautiful short “What else is there?” directed by Nicolas J. Scatamacchia. Shot with a nostalgic tone, the film gently enhances its existential dialogue and emotional depth.

For those drawn to a darker, unmistakably Berlin mood, “Never My Love” marks Nicolo Grosso’s biggest project. The film explores intimacy, loneliness and male vulnerability through the lens of horror cinema, delivering an unsettling yet deeply personal experience.
